Carter Cuties, Rachel Lauren, and Choir Practice

Here are the kids before church a couple of weeks ago. I thought that they looked particularly cute! Look at that smile on my Baby Boy! He is such a charmer!

"Awe Shucks!" When I tell Rachel that I love her she says, "Awe Shucks!" It is so cute. This is Rach before school one day. She has her bangs pinned back because she had another encounter with the scissors. As you can see from some of the other pictures she has really hacked her bangs off. She came out of the bathroom and informed me that she no longer wanted to have bangs and so she had cut them off! She doesn't understand that we would actaully have to grow them out! AAHHH!!

On a personal note, I have to say that I am loving my calling! Being choir director has actaully been the biggest blessing! We had at least 25 people here tonight, not including kids! The songs that we are practicing for Christmas are sounding beautiful! You just can't imagine how wonderful it is to have your home filled with voices singing Christmas songs! There is a Man in the neighborhod who walks his dogs every night around the time I have choir. I had the curtains open and we have huge picture windows in the front of the house. It was dark and so he could see right in. It was so funny to look at his facial expression as he watch me waving my arms around directing a full on choir in my house! Gotta love being a Mormon! We had the door open for circulation so I'm sure he could hear us! I guess that is not something you see every day! Anyway, I just wanted to share with you how much joy it has brought to us and how the spirit has filled our home as we welcome so many members in our ward into our home every week. It is hard work to clean up and make goodies every Sunday but it is well worth it!

  1. It takes a special person to enjoy being the choir director. Good for you! Rachel's hair cracks me up, luckily my kids haven't tried that one yet!

  3. You make goodies EVERY week for choir??!! You are a better woman than I am. I would assign them out to the choir members to bring each week! That is funny about Rachel not wanting bangs anymore and not understanding they have to grow out to get rid of them. Such a difficult concept to grasp! I'm with her, though. When you want them gone, you want them gone RIGHT AWAY!!

  4. Wow... I do agree that being choir director has to be a very difficult job. I like to sit at the piano and just follow. I was wondering what songs you are singing? Where do you find the choral arrangements? I love Sally DeFord... (www.defordmusic.com) She is so inspired, and to think she allows anyone to print her music for free. She is amazing. (I'm sure you have some VERY close connections in finding any music you want, though... that's for sure!) Hope it continues to go well! Love, Katie

  8. That is a very cute picture of your kidos. That cracks me up about Rachel wanting her bangs gone so she just hacks them off. Although I'm sure it didn't make you too happy. That is a very cute picture of Rachel. And that is so great that you are loving being the choir director and how it has blessed you and your family. I would be there every Sunday, for sure, if you were my choir director!

  12. Adam looks so cute in that picture!! What a cute little boy! I was always cutting my own hair when I was little...my poor mom! I didn't know you're the choir director-- that rules! That's a perfect fit for you. I'm sure that dog- walker loves going past your house. Love you darling!

  13. I got grounded once for cutting my friends hair completely off. They always thought I was going to be the beautician of the family and unfortunately never had the desire. When are you going to be here for Christmas?

  14. Hey Christina Beutler here!! Well it's actually Homolik now anyway, i can't believe you are a mommy of three. Your family is beautiful. I'm totally envious of you living TX. When we were little kids my dad got a job out there and were there in Huntsville 6-7 years. I miss Texans they are some of the funnest people I know. Also just to add to the funny hair cutting experiences..... Alicia Mortensen and I were friends before we could talk well we couldn't have more than 4 yrs old and her Mom walked in to the bathroom just as i was about to cut her hair and screamed" DON'T!!! It scared the pants off me. Ha Ha Looking back now I can only imagine the horror she must have felt. Anyway its totally fun to see your family growing and that your doing so great:)
I hope you have a Merry Christmas,
    Christina
