"The troops" in this case, being a one woman army, better known as MOM. I went to the plastic surgeon today to discuss Rachel's surgery in more detail. After sitting there a few minutes I text my Mom and said, "you may need to come down here." She wrote back and said, " I can be there in three hours!" I really do not know what I would do without her. The surgeon said that they may have to do a muscle graft as well as the skin graft. This would require for Rachel to be in the hospital for up to seven days. It is a lot more complicated than I had originally thought. We just have to get through this surgery and I think we may come out on the other side! I am so grateful that I can depend on my Mom - even from this many miles away! If she is here, I know that we can get through anything!
You and Rachel both are going to do great - you have an army praying for you - and of course Mom - an army of one! Yay for Mom! She will make it all better for you while you are making it all better for Rachel.
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome! I love your mom! The reason I haven't posted anything about what is going on with me is because I've been doing hundreds of tests. My arms are seriously blue and yellow. Yuck! It seems like they don't care how bad you want some news you just get to play the waiting game, which is driving me crazy!!! I'm sure next week I'll know something. I really feel a deep peace about everything and that is what keeps me going. That, and everyones prayers of course! Thanks for caring!
ReplyDeleteMoms are seriously the best! What would we do without them! I am glad that you are kind of seeing light at the end of the tunnel after this surgery! We will continue to keep little Rachel in our prayers!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad that your mom is able to help you out when you need her. What a blessing. I'm positive you will make it through this tough week and realize how much the Lord is in your army and of course like your friend said everyone's praying for you. You need a really good book like I had through Jackson's last surgery. I love you and think of how great you are everyday.
ReplyDeleteAmen! I have always loved your mom! Isn't it great that we have such wonderful women to look up to! Keep us posted!
ReplyDeleteYour mom is the best! And that surgery sounds rough! You all will make it through! Everyone is still praying for all of you.
ReplyDeleteI've always loved and admired your mom Niki. She really is such a wonderful woman. And from all I am reading on this blog, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree! I sincerely hope all goes well for all of you.
ReplyDeleteYou and your Mom are troops and strong woman, I admire you both!!
ReplyDeleteYou are amazing! We are, like everyone else, praying for you. I am glad that you have your mom. Mom's are the best!
