The Nutcracker

Dance has always been my passion.  Since I can remember I have had a deep love for the lights, the stage, the costumes, the excitement, the music, and even all of the hours of preparation culminating one wonderful display of talent.  We were fortunate enough to stumble upon a fantastically artistic little ballet studio near our home.  I could have never anticipated the level of professionalism and creativity that they were able to accomplish with so few members.  I had a full circle moment as I was watching my little girls from the wings backstage as they danced in their first ever production.  I had a lump in my throat and butterflies in my stomach.  They were little pros.  Neither one of them had one ounce of nerves.  I was so proud of them.  I can't remember the last time I had so much fun!
Rachel as a Doll

The girls were carried out of boxes and onto the stage.
They had to hold perfectly still.  Rachel did an amazing job!
Though she is blurry, I love the movement in this picture.

Audrey played the part of a "party boy."
She had to be on the stage for a very long time during the first act. She stayed in character the entire time!
I was SO proud of her.

Audrey also played the part of a "Polichinelle."  They are the little girls who come out from under lady gingers dress.  She has so much joy on her face while she is on the stage.  She is a genuine performer!

Waiting to go on stage.

The Bow

Lady Ginger

Watching in the wings (one of my favorite things).

Rachel played the part of a mouse.  She was perfect!  This picture is really dark but I had to be careful about taking pictures backstage.

Here is some of the action backstage.  I love the adrenaline, the whispers, the heavy breathing, the pinning and tucking, the nerves, the near missed cues, it's all so exciting.

Grandma Carter "Acie" and the girls

Rachel with Aunt Stephanie (their adopted aunt)

The girls were asked to sign autographs!  It was so adorable!

"The Blond Buns"
Audrey and Acie were twins!

Grammy came to celebrate with us!  We were so happy to have her here.

The Seguin Gang!
Aunt Deb and Steph and Acie

The whole gang!  Britt and Garrett came to watch the girls as well.

Daddy and his girls!

After the dress rehearsal I snapped these shots of the girls.  I can't even describe how much fun we had!
