Sending out an S.O.S.

Last night I went out with Brittany, my Mom, and my oldest girls for a girls night out!  We had a great time but I found out some things that are alarming to me.  There is something about my Mom that brings all kinds of information out of my girls.  Apparently we are attending Canyon Pointe 90210.  The third grade is completely boy crazy!! They are talking about things like boyfriends and girlfriends, cheating, blushing, "wanting" someone, and the word "sexy" even made it's way into the conversation!!!!  (AAAHHHHH)  I need to know, is this normal!??  I am freaking out!!  I wasn't expecting this until Jr. High School.  HELP!

    lol. still smiling! this is so cute. I remember having crushes in grade three and I was SUPER shy!!!! your girls are cute. sounds like a really fun night out! sorry no advice for you on this one but when you figure something out please share. I am sure I will be there with you before too long:)

    Hmmmmmm.....

    sounds a little young to me for sure. We are in a very small school that is probably quite sheltered also, but i asked Brennan after this post if anyone in his class (he's in a group of 12- 3rd and 4th graders) ever talks about having a boyfriend or girlfriend and he said "no, what does that mean anyway?"

    So I don't know, it is pretty funny though. Do you want me to reserve my little sheltered Brennan for Audrey for when he comes back from his mission?

    I had a MAJOR crush in third grade, and that was47 years ago! However, I am pretty sure I did not know what the word "sexy" was but then again it was a whole different era and life style then.

    Lock them up! Shelter them do what ever it takes. JK Wow I think thats way young. My advice it to keep them talking and you do a lot of talking. Tough time to be raising a family. But you have the Lord on your side.

    Eh, they're probably just excited to even know what that stuff means right now. :) But definitely keep a close eye on 'em as they get older and have serious crushes! Even though I sometimes get frustrated, I always like my mom to be updated on my "love" life. It's made us much better friends to have everything out in the open! Just my thoughts...

    I am pretty sure I "loved" boys at that age, we used to chase them at recess. As for the word sexy? Ya lets be honest, I knew all about it, but I also knew it was something I shouldn't try to be or mess with. The main reason I knew right from wrong on this subject is because my mom sat me down at a very early age and gave me the birds and the bees talk before I could hear about it from friends. From then on she would zero in on me and ask detailed questions then have serious talks about what was apropriate and how the Lord would want me to talk/act/be...you know. Basically, this day and age what you are dealing with is normal, but where it goes from there is up to you. I know you will do great though, because you stay close to the spirit. The Lord will always let you know when something is up.
