"Little boys come in all shapes and sizes,
Shy and adventurous, full of surprises,
With misshapen halos and mischievous grins,
Small dirty faces, and sweet, sticky chins.
They'll keep you so busy, and yet all the while
Nothing can brighten the world like their smile.
And no greater treasure has brought homes more joy
Than a curious, active, and lovable boy! "

The truth is, Adam has a special place in my heart. He is my only boy and he makes me smile like no one else can. These photos make me feel happy. I love this little man.
Some of Adam's recent quotes:
"It's not fair to be five!"
"When you're mad, you can't be naked!"
"That's a dame-it one!" (Meaning dangit or frustrating)
"You can't go to church on your Birthday!"
"Church is boring, all you get to do is sit there!"
"For 100 days!"
(anything that is long ranging from how long it takes to go to church or how many days before Christmas)
He can be very sweet and full of compliments:
"Mom, I like you hair like that"
"You look bootiful"
"You make Rearry good recipes!"
Then of course we have insults:
"Baby head"
"Cici head"
"Cici Poopoo head"
"Diaper head"
(Are we seeing a pattern?? These are mostly directed at little sister)
For Adam's Birthday all he really wanted was to get to stay up late! He hates that he "has to be second" every night to get tucked into bed. For once, he wanted to stay up later than his sisters. His wish was granted Sunday night when he stayed up until 1:00 a.m. with his Dad. I smiled to myself when he and James came into my bedroom at midnight with matching cups. They were taking a break in between playing video games and watching a movie. He felt so big! We really had to pay for it the next day but it was worth it.
I had to wait for a long time to get to know my little Adam's personality. He didn't start talking until he was three and really didn't start communicating until he was four. He recently graduated from language labs and speech therapy. It was a real milestone for me. It wasn't long ago that I was excited that he whispered the word, "sing" to me at bedtime, one of the first real verbal cues I had ever gotten from him. Since he has learned to communicate with us we have discovered what a clever boy he is! He is always making jokes and being silly. He is also the sweetest and most tender hearted of my kids. He is so smart and such a perfectionist. His teachers are always raving about how well he is doing in preschool. I am very proud of him for how far he has come.
I truly enjoy him every day.
Happy Birthday!
P.S. His scar in the middle of his head is from falling at church and hitting a chair up on the stage. This happened while practicing for the Primary Program. He had to get stitches and of course ripped them open. It makes James and I crazy!

ah! happy birthday mr. Adam! Can't wait to see you at Christmas :)
