Entering the Valley

Texas has an ego equal to its size.  One morning while I was dropping off my kids at school I heard the kids reciting the Pledge of Allegiance over the intercom.  It was all very nostalgic until I heard them continue:

"Honor the Texas flag; I pledge allegiance to thee, Texas, one state under God, one and indivisible."

I'm telling you, these people are nuts and I'm raising four of them!!

The city literally shuts down and all of the "trail riders" come in for the rodeo!!

It is almost impossible to get out of Texas!  It takes almost two full days of diligent driving!  Them Texans 'd praly tell ya 't they lak it tha-it waay . . .

The truth is, they're crazy about their state and I kinda like it!

However . . .

When I drove through the canyon and entered the valley, my heart told me I was home.

This picture was taken just as we arrived June 4th.

This is my Momma's house as we pulled up around 9:00 p.m.
Home Sweet Home
