Rocky Mountain Fun

Barefoot and running towards main, the dog is barking and chasing after a roller-blader.  Little pebbles make indentions on the soles of my feet and I feel hot.  It's almost sunset and the sun is blinding on the horizon.  I grab the little bugger and it's back to captivity for him.  I had just finished combing ants off of his snout before the jail break occurred.  I turn the corner to see Adam hitting the tree with a broom, I'm not sure to what end.  Cici is trailing behind me in pigtails with a pink-punch mustache and a mischievous expression.  The girls are riding around on their scooters, enjoying the freedom of a familiar neighborhood.  I finally corral the two little ones in the kitchen with a little help from my Mom's chocolate cake when Rachel breaks through the door.  Audrey is crying on the corner with knees scraped and spirits wounded.  We limp through the door, I  wipe tears, bandage boo boos, and put in a movie. 

There is calm and I decide to sneak a moment to finally catch up on my blog. (I know I know, it has been a drought) The chocolate cake is standing proudly on its platter, taunting me from across the kitchen. We do enjoy our desserts when we come to visit! The cool mountain air has been refreshing. It is always good to be back home. It is that much sweeter to share my cocoon of childhood memories with my growing children. We have had Sunday dinners and sweet desserts, rodeos and road trips, snow cones and sunbathing, canyon drives and cotton candy, fireworks and campfires, late nights and late mornings. We've been to movies and out to dinner, hiking waterfalls, barbecues with friends, parades, concerts, and the like. We've celebrated weddings and birthdays to our hearts content. No one should be allowed to have this much fun! I can assure you that we are soaking it in. Life is sweet right now for us, not that we are deserving, but it would be a sin not to admit it. The Universe is offering us a big juicy bite of happiness and we are savoring every moment!
