Being a Mother

I stole this from Sarah Cardon - Thanks Sarah! I loved it so much I had to share it!

Some homes try to hide the fact
That children shelter there.
Ours boasts of it quite openly,
The signs are everywhere.
For smears are on the windows,
Little smudges on the door;
I should apologize I guess,
For the toys strewn on the floor.
But I sat down with the children:
We played and laughed and read.
And if the doorbell doesn’t shine,
their eyes will shine instead.
For when at times I’m forced to choose
The one job or the other,
I want to be a homemaker
But first I’ll be a mother.

  4. Well look at that...I was going to post a comment on how we are doing that quote at super saturday tomorrow but Katie Chase had already beat me to it. We are in the same ward in Henderson. I know it is a small world. I am going to have to talk to her about it tomorrow. Anyway, I love that poem!

  5. I love that! It is so true, it is so easy to get frustrated when things are not in order, but who cares?
